Bassment
Born in 1992 in the city of Porto, José Miguel Silva is the DJ and producer that embodies Bassment. In 2009 he started to buy his first vinyl records, months before having his own mixing equipment. Short after, he makes his debut with promoter Zona6 (Porto). In 2010, he is referenced as an upcoming talent by the 105 Agency. The accumulating experience behind the decks made the transition to the production of his own music a natural and inevitable process that progressively transformed the basement of his house into a true production studio.
It was in mid-2013 that he started to promote his first projects online, and soon after he wins an online music competition for the Sample Genie website (DigitalLabz, Bristol, UK). In 2014 he started releasing music with worldwide labels and while in meantime he co-founded the portuguese label Counterpoint. Bassment has released music with Audio Theory, Beat Spectrum, Counterpoint, Delta 9, I.D. Bogotá, Kulture Klash, Peer Pressure, Promo Audio, True Box,

His music has been supported by Philth, BassBrothers, SkankandBass, DBR UK, Bredren, MAUOQ, Sweetpea, Dj Rusty and Counterpoint.

Bassment has played shows in Madrid, Spain and in Oakland, San Francisco Bay Area, USA aswell as travelled all around Portugal, North to South. 2019 already looks like a very promising year with more gigs and a lot more forthcoming music!
