Jay Fernandez

GroovySounds

Born in Coimbra, Portugal, Jay Fernandez discovered music through his brother’s vinyl collection, an early influence that led him towards DJing and the electronic music scene in the mid-90s. His musical identity developed through an eclectic mix of influences, from House and Hip-Hop to Rock, Manchester’s alternative scene, Big Beat, Trip-Hop and World Music. Now based in Lisbon, Jay continues to explore electronic music with the same curiosity and openness that have shaped his journey from the beginning. Rather than following a single direction, his approach embraces different sounds, eras and cultures, allowing unexpected connections to emerge through music.
